DM's, be warned about Out of the Abyss
In most places that review or write about hardcover adventure modules for 5E , Out of the Abyss is ranked as the best one yet. With no small amount of prize.
There are few things they often fail to mention.
Prep work needed to run OotA is staggering . It is recommended for nobody but pro DM's with lot of time on their hands. In fact writing your own adventure would likely be less time consuming.
If your players are not familiar or excited for underdark setting. It is a problem. You are basically leading them trough 2/3 of hero level life - inside of weird alien caves. ( this may take many months , even year of RL campaign time )
There is no chance of pause , change of pace or side adventures. Sometimes the characters want to do something else. Or you want to change the pace. Here you are in race against time inside of deadly caves where everyone is your enemy.
Focus on survival. Some may like it - my players didnt. Best check before with your players.
Its not classic hack and slash. Some may say its great. But ask yourself, why your players play Dungeons and Dragons no less , if they wanted weird rules and settings ? It is more likely your players love that old school fantasy feel.
This is not critic against OotA. Its great book, and awesome adventure.
Just note it will not suit every DM ( probably not any DM that has limited time ) In fact if you want to shorten your prep time, and this is why you opted for written adventure, OotA is exactly the opposite.
And it will not suit players that are not excited about Drow, Underdark or not big fans of FR
